Chipotle Revamps Loyalty Program with “Rewards on Repeat”

Chipotle is entering a new phase of digital growth with the relaunch of its loyalty program, introducing “Rewards on Repeat” alongside a redesigned mobile app experience. With more than 21 million active members already contributing significantly to sales, the company is focusing on delivering more frequent rewards, greater flexibility, and deeper engagement. 

The updated platform reflects broader industry trends, as loyalty programs become a key factor in where consumers choose to dine—especially among Gen Z, who now lead in program signups. A recent report showed that almost 50% of loyalty program signups in restaurants during 2024 were from Gen Zers. Also, 25% of diners said they’d switch to a restaurant they didn’t favor as much if it offered better loyalty perks.

Chipotle President, Chief Strategy and Technology Officer, Curt Garner, said, “Our Rewards platform now drives a significant portion of our sales and connects us with more than 21 million active members. With ‘Rewards on Repeat,’ we’re delivering more rewards to all members, more often, and enhancing existing benefits. This relaunch reflects what our guests want most: immediate value, personalization, and a seamless experience whether they’re dining in our restaurants or ordering through the app.”

The enhanced program adds a range of new benefits while keeping existing features intact. New members receive an immediate reward, such as free chips and guacamole with a qualifying purchase, while all users gain access to monthly free food promotions, expanded redemption options, and customizable birthday rewards. 

Additional features include lower point thresholds, bundled meal deals, and ongoing gamified challenges that encourage repeat visits. Importantly, points now remain active with just one qualifying purchase per year, offering greater flexibility compared to the previous expiration window. 

Alongside these updates, Chipotle has redesigned its app to centralize rewards tracking, improve navigation, and enable more personalized interactions.
