Allegiant Air Plots Loyalty Program Revamp

Allegiant Air is preparing a significant overhaul of its Allways Rewards loyalty program, an initiative fueled by its rapid growth and a desire to enhance value for leisure travelers. Launched in 2021, the current program offers a straightforward structure in which members earn 1 point per dollar spent, redeemable as one cent per point toward flight credits, without tiers, premium perks, or seat upgrades. Executives say the new version will retain this simplicity and flexibility while introducing features more typical of traditional airline programs.

Despite the revamped program still being in early planning stages, Allegiant executives emphasize their intention to integrate familiar loyalty elements (e.g. tiered benefits) that resonate with frequent flyers, while preserving what makes Allways attractive to casual users. The airline’s primary demographic—those flying a few times annually—helped shape the program’s original design, but the shift signals a desire to deepen engagement and reward customer loyalty more robustly.

Allegiant operates in many small to mid-sized U.S. cities with limited airline competition, giving it unique influence in those markets. The airline’s leaders believe there is untapped potential to “interact with [customers] at a deeper level,” especially where Allegiant is the primary or sole carrier. By introducing additional benefits and potentially tiered status, Allegiant hopes to enhance loyalty while continuing to serve its core leisure traveler base with the transparency and ease rewarded by its existing model.
