Weigel’s Launches MyWeigel’s Pay to Simplify Fueling and Boost Everyday Savings
Weigel’s has unveiled MyWeigel’s Pay, an upgraded version of its former Club Card designed to make fueling faster, easier, and more rewarding. The new program allows guests to securely link their bank account to their MyWeigel’s account and automatically receive $0.20 off per gallon every time they purchase fuel using the service.
Weigel’s CEO & President Doug Yawberry said, “MyWeigel’s Pay is about making the everyday easier. By simplifying how guests pay and automatically delivering fuel savings, we’re creating a more connected experience that adds real value at the pump.”
MyWeigel’s Pay is fully integrated into the Weigel’s app and streamlines pay-at-the-pump functionality while offering simple account management in one place. By removing extra steps and friction from the fueling process, the program delivers a smoother, more convenient experience that saves both time and money for everyday guests. MyWeigel’s Pay also works with MyWeigel’s Rewards, combining payment, fuel discounts, and rewards.

United Airlines Bets on Loyalty Over Short-Term Rewards to Drive Growth
United Airlines recently reported strong growth in its loyalty business in 2025, crediting a strategy that emphasizes long-term customer loyalty rather than short-term rewards. During the company’s fourth-quarter earnings call, executive leadership shared that loyalty revenue rose 10% year over year in Q4 and 9% for the entire year. According to Andrew Nocella, executive vice president and chief commercial officer, the key differentiator between United’s MileagePlus program and competing rewards programs is member churn. MileagePlus members tend to join, adopt the co-branded credit card, and remain engaged for long periods.
Nocella said, “Therefore, we don’t need to do extraordinary things to attract people to United; we’ve already done it with a great product, a great network, and rewards that they really want, which is travel. People really want a first-class seat or a Polaris seat to Tahiti as a reward.” Nocella added, “All of the other programs out there tend to use constant bonus points and other benefits and have a lot of revolve around customers going in and out, switching credit cards, so on and so forth, often to game the systems. I just think an airline program, and particularly the United program, is different.”
United’s MileagePlus program now exceeds 130 million members and continues to evolve through partnerships and new earning options. Recent enhancements include deeper integration with Lyft, the launch of a new debit card, and a collaboration with JetBlue that links elements of both airlines’ loyalty ecosystems. Looking ahead, Nocella said the company plans to further “harness the power” of loyalty by making the program even stickier and accelerating growth, with more details expected in the coming weeks.
