HelloFresh Partners With No Kid Hungry to Launch Campaign to Tackle Summer Childhood Hunger

With one in five kids in the United States facing hunger, HelloFresh has joined forces with the No Kid Hungry campaign to launch the “Hunger Hero” initiative so that fewer children go hungry. This summer-focused campaign brings together influential chefs and advocates like Tini Younger, Eitan Bernath, and Becca and Justin Schwartz to raise awareness and inspire collective action against food insecurity. With a significant rise in childhood hunger during the summer, when many children lose access to school-provided meals, the campaign is a timely call to action to address a growing crisis.

HelloFresh US SVP and Managing Director Adam Kalikow said, “Every day, we’re witnessing more families struggling with hunger — and during the summer months, the need becomes even more urgent. That’s why we’re doubling down on our efforts to help close the summer hunger gap. By partnering with some notable ‘hunger heroes’ like Tini, Eitan, Becca and Justin, we’re able to bring more attention to this growing issue while making a tangible impact. We invite everyone to get involved and look forward to spotlighting hunger heroes across the country — those stepping up and making a real difference in their communities.”

The Hunger Hero campaign kicks off with events in cities like New York, Atlanta, and Phoenix, offering families free HelloFresh meal kits and resources for accessing food assistance programs like SNAP and summer EBT. Each event features an ambassador actively involved in hunger relief, exemplifying how community engagement can make a tangible difference. These ambassadors will participate in local events and rally their online communities to support the cause through donations, volunteering, and spreading awareness. The campaign continues on social media, highlighting both celebrity and everyday “Hunger Heroes” such as educators and food bank workers to showcase grassroots efforts fighting hunger. For every social media interaction on campaign content, HelloFresh will donate to No Kid Hungry, up to $10,000 during the summer.

Birdcall Launches App-Free Loyalty Program to Boost Customer Engagement

Birdcall has introduced Birdcall Rewards, a new loyalty program that simplifies how customers earn and redeem benefits. Unlike many traditional rewards programs, this one doesn’t require a mobile app or password. Instead, it’s seamlessly integrated into Birdcall’s proprietary point-of-sale system, Poncho, allowing customers to sign up and collect points just by using their phones while placing orders online, in-store, or through the drive-thru. Points can then be used to save on a future order. Customers can review their available rewards online, through the ordering kiosk, or on their receipts.

Birdcall CEO Mark Lohmann said, “At Birdcall, we’re not just about serving great food; we’re about building lasting relationships with our guests and providing best-in-class experiences. The new Birdcall rewards program is designed with the guest experience in mind and offers a simple and easy way to earn and redeem rewards. No app, no password, no hassle. It’s another way to thank our guests for being part of the Birdcall family and for supporting our mission to bring people together over delicious, all-natural chicken.”

The rollout of Birdcall Rewards aligns with the brand’s strategic push for national growth through franchising. With 15 locations already operating in Colorado, Arizona, and Texas, Birdcall hopes to scale up to 200 restaurants nationwide by 2028.

Amazon Expands Fast Delivery to Rural America With Major Investments

Amazon has announced a major expansion of its Same-Day and Next-Day Delivery services to over 4,000 smaller cities, towns, and rural areas across the U.S. by the end of 2025. Following record-breaking delivery speeds in 2023 and 2024, the company hopes to make fast, reliable shipping a reality for tens of millions more customers, no matter where they live. In the first half of 2025 alone, Amazon has already increased the number of items delivered within a day by more than 30% compared to the same time last year, signaling its commitment to rapid service across the country. To support its expanded deliveries, Amazon is investing more than $4 billion to triple its delivery network by 2026, focusing on small towns and rural areas. This includes opening new delivery stations that create an average of 170 jobs each, transforming rural facilities into hybrid hubs for faster delivery, and using machine learning to stock locally relevant items.

Worldwide Amazon Stores CEO Doug Herrington said, “Everybody loves fast delivery. So, whether you live in Monmouth, Iowa, or in downtown Los Angeles, now you’re going to have the same fantastic Amazon customer experience: the ability to get the wide variety of items you need to keep your household running every day, delivered the same or next day.”

This expansion isn’t just about speed. It’s about bridging the retail gap for customers in remote areas who often lack access to brick-and-mortar stores and a wide selection of goods. By making everyday essentials such as groceries, diapers, pet food, and cleaning supplies available for Same-Day Delivery, Amazon is helping rural families save time and money. In fact, delivery of everyday items is growing at more than double the rate of other categories. Feedback from early rollouts in over 1,000 communities shows high customer satisfaction, with 90% of top-reordered products in these regions being daily essentials.
