Chili’s Enhances Customer Experience with Ziosk Partnership
Chili’s Grill & Bar is collaborating with restaurant ordering and payment platform Ziosk to elevate the dining experience for customers at more than 1,100 of its corporate-owned locations. The partnership can simplify the payment process for dining guests and reduce wait times when they want to pay their bills. Ziosk’s pay-at-the-table technology has seen a 90% adoption rate, and it may drive customer loyalty while providing diners with a more convenient checkout solution. Chili’s hopes to increase its operational efficiency, enhance guest satisfaction, and create a more seamless dining experience with the payment solution.
“Today’s casual dining industry is as competitive as ever, and Chili’s continues to lead in team member and guest satisfaction,” said Rhonda Levene, Ziosk CEO. “We are thrilled to return to Chili’s nationwide, giving guests the gift of time. We are committed to being a strategic partner in Chili’s success, driving operational excellence and delivering an unparalleled dining experience.”
Chili’s also aims to boost guest loyalty and engagement with the My Chili’s Rewards® program. Ziosk tablets offer various entertainment options, including games, that promote interaction between diners. The platform’s AI-powered analytics can further support Chili’s with post-dining survey data and insights, enabling the restaurant chain to improve its service and hospitality. The decision to roll out Ziosk nationwide follows a successful pilot highlighting the platform’s role in Chili’s growth.

TikTok Complies with E.U.’s Digital Services Act
The European Commission announced that TikTok has agreed to the Commission’s request to withdraw its rewards program from the 27 member states after the E.U. voiced concerns over the program’s “addictive effect.” TikTok’s withdrawal puts it in compliance with the Digital Services Act, an E.U. regulation designed to “create a safer digital space” while protecting users’ rights. TikTok launched its Lite Rewards in France and Spain in April, but the E.U. immediately wanted a “risk assessment” of the program, believing that the required tasks for points earning were addictive. The tasks included following creators and watching and liking videos.
Although TikTok is withdrawing the rewards program, the short-form video platform hasn’t agreed that its point requirements are addictive. A spokesperson for TikTok responded, “We always seek to engage constructively with the European Commission and other regulators. TikTok is pleased to have reached an amicable resolution.”
The Commission insists excessive screen time can lead to adverse physical and mental health effects on the program’s users. Many health professionals have come forward about the growing concerns of too much screen time, especially in teenagers and children. The E.U. has responded by enacting laws such as the Digital Services Act. The European Commission says it can impose fines for any breaches of the Act.
