As a PhD student at Boston College, we have focused a great deal on both past trends and current developments in social media. As we reflect on the present and the past, I found myself considering the future directions in the field. A few of these extrapolations are admittedly bolder than others, but certainly not out of the realm of possibility. However, I did want to give myself something to look back on over the next five years.
