Petsense by Tractor Supply Hosts Nationwide Spring Adoptathon

Petsense by Tractor Supply, a subsidiary of Tractor Supply Company, is set to host its semi-annual Spring Adoptathon on April 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at locations across the country. Partnering with Seresto and Hill’s Science Diet, the one-day event will connect local shelters and rescue groups with prospective pet owners, helping dogs, cats, and small animals find permanent homes.

Petsense by Tractor Supply Senior Vice President, Neil Tenzer, said, “We’ve seen thousands of these adoptions over the years, and watching someone meet their new pet for the first time never gets old. Our Spring Adoptathon is about creating more of those moments in every community we serve, but it doesn’t stop there. We’re here to support pet parents long after adoption day, with the products, expertise, and community they can rely on from day one and beyond.”

The Adoptathon continues a long-standing effort by Petsense to support animal adoption nationwide. The company aims to facilitate 1,200 adoptions during this spring event, building on a track record of more than 216,000 successful placements since 2005 through its in-store SavAPet centers and adoption initiatives. To support new pet owners, Petsense is offering a range of resources and incentives. Adopters will receive take-home kits with product samples, 30% discounts on purchases, and grooming offers to ease the transition. In-store experts will also provide personalized guidance on pet care, while the Neighbor’s Club rewards program allows customers to earn points on future purchases. Together, these efforts aim to make pet adoption more accessible, affordable, and supported beyond the first day home.

Publix Honors Associates for Community Impact at Annual Meeting

Publix recognized six associates with the Mr. George Community Service Award during its annual stockholders’ meeting, celebrating their exceptional contributions to local communities. The award reflects the legacy of founder George Jenkins, who believed the company should play an active role in improving the lives of the people it serves. Since its inception in 1995, the honor has been awarded to 165 associates who embody that spirit of service.

Publix CEO Kevin Murphy said, “George Jenkins once said, “We are not only in the grocery business, we’re in the people business. That means taking care of our customers, communities, and each other. Our 2026 recipients take these words to heart and are fulfilling our mission to be involved as responsible citizens in the communities we serve.”

This year’s recipients were recognized for living out that mission through meaningful, hands-on community engagement. The 2026 honorees include associates from each retail division and one support leader, representing locations across the Southeast. Their recognition highlights Publix’s broader culture of service, which extends across its workforce of more than 260,000 employees and 1,400+ stores. As the largest employee-owned company in the United States, Publix continues to pair business success with a longstanding commitment to giving back.
