It may seem like a fairly innocent upgrade, but for Avis Budget Group officials, allowing Avis and Budget Car Rental customers to receive their rental agreements translated into a more convenient language makes the overall experience easier and more efficient.
Avis Budget Group will offer customers rental agreements in their native language as part of its ongoing core strategy of putting the customer first.
John Barrows, Vice President, Communications , Avis Budget Group, told Loyalty 360 that the company is always looking at ways to enhance the customer experience.
“We have a number of ways we gather insights from customers and from our research we learned that customers traveling to the U.S. from overseas preferred to have their rental contracts in their native language, so we have begun responding to this to make their travels more enjoyable,” Barrows said.
Available as a courtesy to customers at participating airport locations across North America, international travelers can request a copy of their rental agreement in French, German, Portuguese, or Spanish.
The new offering is available at corporate Avis and Budget airport facilities located at the nation’s top international arrival cities including Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Orlando, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C.
Avis Budget Group has more than 10,000 rental locations in about 175 countries around the world, and through its Zipcar brand, which is the world’s leading car sharing network, with more than 790,000 members. Avis Budget Group operates most of its car rental offices in North America, Europe, and Australia directly, and operates primarily through licensees in other parts of the world.
Barrows said Avis Budget group strives to make every step of the rental car experience more enjoyable, simpler, faster and easier -- from the first point of contact, through the reservation process no matter which booking channel is chosen, to the customer satisfaction email sent after every completed rental to customers who have provided an email address.
“Offering translated rental agreements is just one small way we're enhancing this one aspect of the rental experience,” Barrows said. “It speeds up the vehicle pick-up process because customers visiting from other countries can better understand their rental options and more quickly get to their vehicle and be on their way.”
