USPS Delivers Faster, Boosts Customer Satisfaction During 2025 Holiday Season

The United States Postal Service reported notable improvements in delivery performance during the 2025 holiday surge, driven by major investments in technology and logistics. Between November 15, 2025, and January 9, 2026, the Postal Service handled roughly 16 billion mail pieces and packages, delivering them in an average of 2.5 days, an improvement from 2.8 days compared to the same period last year. On-time delivery increased across nearly all categories, with particularly strong performance in last-mile Destination Delivery Units, a focus of an upcoming USPS bid solicitation process.

Postmaster General and CEO David Steiner said, “These results reflect the tenacity of our workforce as well as the network improvements we continue to implement. We will keep improving service throughout the coming year — optimizing our network, strengthening reliability, improving delivery times, and ensuring high-value products and services for residential and business customers in every community we serve.”

Customer satisfaction metrics reinforced the operational improvements. Compared to last year’s holiday season, calls to the USPS Customer Care Center dropped 23 percent, while package-related inquiries declined 44 percent. Customer experience survey results showed a 6.4-percentage-point increase in satisfaction related to inquiries. As USPS marks its 250th year of service, the agency emphasized that its self-funded, nationwide mission remains centered on affordable, reliable delivery to more than 170 million addresses.

Intuit’s AI can prefill up to 90% of common tax forms and complete 80% of a simple return before a filer even begins, while intelligent expert matching pairs customers with the right local specialist in seconds.

Intuit Executive Vice President and General Manager of Consumer Group, Mark Notarainni, said, “We are fundamentally redefining what it means to get taxes done by delivering a first-of-its-kind seamless integration of our digital and physical experience. This isn’t just another tax store; it is the physical manifestation of our AI+HI strategy, a modern space where our AI and local human expertise converge to provide trusted, personalized guidance. We are providing the antidote to tax-related stress and anxiety to give filers year-round control, complete confidence, and better financial outcomes.”

Beyond tax preparation, Intuit is committed to community and education. The company is celebrating the opening with a high-profile launch event and a $100,000 donation to New York City Public Schools to support financial literacy. Additional stores are opening in major markets, including Southern California, Chicago, Dallas, Phoenix, and across the New York metro area, extending access to face-to-face expertise nationwide.
