DoorDash has partnered with OpenAI to launch a new grocery shopping experience inside ChatGPT, allowing users to turn meal ideas and recipes into real grocery orders in just a few steps. Customers can now discover recipes, generate ingredient lists, and check out through DoorDash without ever leaving the chat, with deliveries arriving from local stores in as little as an hour.
The integration is designed for people who already use ChatGPT to plan meals but struggle to find time for grocery shopping. By connecting ChatGPT with DoorDash’s nationwide logistics network, users gain access to a wide range of grocery retailers, from major chains like Kroger and Safeway to regional favorites such as Wegmans and Schnucks. The experience removes common friction points, such as writing lists or making store runs, streamlining the entire process from inspiration to delivery.
Using the feature is simple: users enable the DoorDash app within ChatGPT, ask for recipe or meal suggestions, and then prompt ChatGPT to shop for the ingredients. The app converts recipes into a shoppable cart, which users can review and finalize directly in DoorDash.
