Hull-based broadband provider KC has been named the overall winner of the 2013 UK Customer Experience Awards.
Regional telecoms group KC has bagged two prizes at the 2013 UK Customer Experience Awards, including being named this year's overall winner.
The awards, which have been held since 2009, aim to "celebrate and promote excellence in customer experience across a broad spectrum of industry", organisers claim.
Accordingly, in order to scoop the top prize, KC - which delivers fibre broadband and mobile services to homes and businesses in Hull and East Yorkshire - went up against both national and global brands from a variety of sectors.
This included competition from Sky and BT, which KC also beat in the IT and Telecommunications category, and other firms such as Easyjet and Disney Store.
The Hull provider's customer service model works through a number of different channels, including face-to-face forums on a wide range of topics - a strategy it credits with having raised satisfaction levels.
"Everyone at KC is absolutely thrilled to be recognised for our efforts to give our customers a great experience, regardless of the type of interaction they have with us," commented Gary Young, Director of Business and Consumer Services for the group.
