In a meeting of two acclaimed and award-winning international loyalty programs, JetPrivilege and Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG®) have announced a partnership that will become one of the richest reward programs for India.

Jet Privilege is the loyalty and rewards program of Jet Airways, while SPG is Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide loyalty program. The partnership will tap into India’s growing travel market, which is seen in the recent significant increase in SPG Membership in India.

“SPG Membership in India is growing exponentially with more than 250% growth over the last five years,” Irene Lin, Director, Distribution, Loyalty and Partnerships, Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Asia Pacific said in a release. “As membership in India grows, it’s important that we’re giving our members more selection and more ways to earn and redeem their valuable Starpoints. This newly-inked milestone partnership with JetPrivilege, the frequent flyer program of Jet Airways adds to our growing list of airline partners, providing SPG members greater redemption options with their Starpoints.”

Through this partnership, members will be able to earn new points in various ways through their travel experiences for both SPG and JetPrivilege. SPG members can earn JPMiles for their stays at over 1,200 properties across all of Starwood Hotels & Resorts’ nine brands globally, as well as have the flexibility to transfer existing Starpoints to JPMiles. In addition, the partnership offers 5000 bonus JPMiles whenever SPG members transfer 20,000 Starpoints to JPMiles.

“It’s our continuous endeavor to create unique and enriching experiences for our JetPrivilege members as well as for all our participating partners. Looking at the growing consumer needs of domestic and international travel with a memorable hospitality experience at the best possible hotels and resorts, the most logical extension of the JetPrivilege programme was to expand our partnership with some of the finest hotel chains both in India and international destinations,”  Manish Dureja, Managing Director, JetPrivilege said. “This partnership with SPG is one such key initiative and we are extremely delighted with this association. A JetPrivilege member on their stay at any of the SPG hotels will have the advantage of getting rewarded with JPMiles, enriching the overall travel experience.”

Jet Airways joins a list of over 30 airlines SPG has partnered with in a commitment to providing members with an array of options when it comes to earning points. Partnerships with frequent flyer programs include international airlines like Emirates, Singapore Airlines, Etihad Airways, Lufthansa and British Airways.

In honor of the new partnership, SPG is offering double JPMiles to Jet Privilege members for their stay at Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide. To participate, Jet Privilege members must join the SPG program and register at www.spg.com/jet from now through Dec. 31, 2014.

“We are delighted to partner with JetPrivilege to enrich the travel experience for our ever growing base of SPG members in India,” Dilip Puri, Managing Director India and Regional Vice President South Asia, Starwood Hotels and Resorts said. “Aviation and hospitality go hand in hand, as more and more Indians are travelling to places. Given our strong footprint of 40 hotels currently operating in India and a robust pipeline of 35 hotels under development, this collaboration is strategically important as India rises to be one of the world’s fastest growing markets for domestic and outbound travel,” he added.
